ABOUT

Telan Nelson, PT, MPT
I am a licensed Physical Therapist and a certified Pilates Mat and Reformer Instructor.
I opened my practice in Auburn in 2018. Prior to that, I worked as a Physical Therapist at Body Concepts Inc. in Folsom. I have recently joined the team at Movement Shift PT and Performance and am so excited to serve the communities of Auburn, Folsom, Roseville and Granite Bay at this location.
I was a synchronized swimmer for 15 years with the Auburn Mermaids and returned as an assistant coach. I also enjoyed soccer, tennis, and pole vaulting while I attended Placer High School.

My high school sweetheart, now husband, and I love to camp, kayak, hike, and road trip. We had a baby boy in 2020 and life has been extra fulfilling ever since!
Education
Bachelor's of Science, Exercise Biology - UC Davis (2009)
It was at UC Davis, during my Human Gross Anatomy course and teaching assistant position, where I fell in love with understanding human anatomy and the intricacies of how our bodies move and function.
Master's of Physical Therapy (MPT) - CSU Sacramento (2011)
I followed my interest in human anatomy and sports to seek a Masters in Physical Therapy. My passion for the profession grew immensely during my outpatient orthopedic rotation in Nevada City during which I instructed aquatic therapy and trained under highly skilled manual therapy clinicians who encouraged me to participate in the Folsom Physical Therapy Orthopedic Manual Therapy Long-Term Program and to pursue Pilates for fitness and rehabilitation.
